Yarn length consumption represents one of the most important parameters of warp knitted structures, used for the machine adjustments and for some important fabric properties. The paper presents teoretical and experimental research upon the determination of this parameter and the correlation between it and the courses per cm.
A simplified theoretical method for yarn run-in calculation it is proposed, and the results are compared with practical run-in values, measured on fabrics with different lapping and stitch densities, made on a KS 3 EBC Tricot machine.
The research is based on an experimental part which has been made at Karl Mayer Company- Germany during a training stage, for doctor paper.
