EFFECT OF TWIST FACTOR AND FILAMENT TENSION ON PROPERTIES OF EGYPTIAN CORE SPUN YARNS

(11/11/2002 20:00)

Filament tension and twist factor are important parameters that control filament central position and, consequently, properties of core spun yarns.
What is the expected interaction between them is a question that is answered in this article . Core spun yarns of Ne 60 were produced at two levels of core tension and five levels of twist factors. The core was continuous multi-filament polyester of 50 denier and the sheath was cotton Giza 70 . The experiments were carried out on a modified ring spinning frame that contains grooved tension rollers and additional dead weight tension devices. Yarn samples were obtained, tested and results were represented and discussed .
