Although a number of theoretical models have been proposed in the past in an attempt to derive basic properties from the perspective of the structure of these fabrics, the role of bonding characteristics including bond geometry, distribution and related fiber properties have not been considered. Mi and Batra [1] proposed a mechanics based model recently to predict the stress-strain behavior for certain point-bonded geometries by considering both the structure and fiber properties. We have used this model as a starting point and have refined it in terms of its underlying assumptions and have developed it further to make it applicable to various bond geometries. We have extended the work accomplished to date to help understand the behavior of point bonded materials as a function of various structural variables.
