The Leslie Fay Company Inc, a leader in women’s apparel, announced Friday that it has selected Lectra’s Gallery product development solution as part of a strategic initiative to reduce time to market.
With this investment, Leslie Fay has standardised on Lectra’s solution for full-scale product development in the apparel industry. The company will be fully integrated with Lectra solutions from product development (Gallery) to design (U4IA), pattern and marker making (Modaris and Diamino) to the creation of technical drawings (GraphicSpec).

Developed for apparel industry brands and retailers, Gallery provides a collaborative space for various teams to work together to gather and manage information from: marketing (product line definitions, product descriptions, price/cost targets, colours), and design data Shapes, fabrics, trims and sketches), cost related information (materials, labour and purchase costs with simulation scenarios), manufacturing data (measurements and sewing specification, pattern and marker data) as well as technical specifications (visual instructions for packaging and labels, manufacturing and quality assurance data).

By automating its entire design and product development process, Leslie Fay will be able to communicate with sourcing partners to better fulfil its orders, and, as a result, reduce its turnaround time. It also hopes to swiftly respond to market trends in the women’s apparel industry.

“Lectra’s Gallery solution is consistent with our strategic direction moving forward. Gallery will enable us to collaborate with our sourcing partners in Hong Kong and around the world, and, more importantly, will allow us to jump on market trends so that we can bring fashionable products to market faster,” explained John Short, CEO of Leslie Fay.
