The Vietnam Cotton Company (VNCC) this week revealed plans to invest $28 million in eight new cotton processing plants and a further $4.5m in three new cotton seed oil processing plants.
The company said the new factories will be built in Dac Lac and Gia Lai in the Tay Nguyen region, Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan in the country’s southern central region and in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta region.

VNCC said the new plants will each produce 20,000 tons of cotton per year and come as the government aims to meet its target of reducing the clothing industry’s reliance on imports of raw cotton material
