Feng Tay Enterprises Co, which designs and makes sports shoes for companies including Nike, revealed on Friday its to transform its headquarters in central Taiwan into a global logistics management centre.
The company, which also produces casual shoes, inline skates and blade skates, recently completed a new office building and plant in the centre, which is located on a 720,000-square-foot site in the Toulio High-tech Industrial Zone in Yunlin County.
The firm said the centre will eventually have R&D and management sections, and will serve as the base for the entire Feng Tay Group for management training, the design of new footwear patterns and the development of advanced manufacturing technologies.
Established 30 years ago as a sports shoe producer. Feng Tay now has production lines in China, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Mexicom. It spent $15.24 million, and $16.55m, on research and development in 1999 and 2000, respectively
