Luxury fibre yarns and ready-made knitted garments are likely to play a larger role in the export sales of the Soft group’s Casablanca outlet. For the company has just announced its intention to exhibit at the Expofil yarn fair in Paris this December.
As well as mohair there will be emphasis on angora and on fine quality woollens.
Trading as Emafil, the Moroccan mill comprises two worsted spinning units, and a texturising plant. Its facilities also include weaving, flat bed and circular knitted fabric production as well as a division specifically geared to pile fabric production.
At the moment most of Emafil’s output is to European garment manufacturers who have set up production facilities in Moroccom. But the company now plans to talk direct to the head offices of such customers about their future yarn, fabric or complete garment requirements.
