This was revealed by the federal textile advisor, Mr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig
after the Indian Commerce Ministry informed him that the Indian
government had begun issuing licenses. .

He also informed that he was pursuing with embassies of both the
countries to ensure the cotton landed in Pakistan well before the new
cotton starts arriving in the markets to ease the supply situation. .

It may be recalled that the government of India had imposed a ban on
cotton exports on April 19, but revoked the same on May 21, but with
the rider that it has to be done with a license
