A report of the Information Centre of the Cotton Arbitration and Testing General Organization (CATGO) said that a decrease in the international production of super soft cottons is expected, with a 20% to be 604,000 tons during 2008/2009 season. This is mainly because of the decrease in the prices of the super soft cottons and the increase of the prices of Alabanda Cotton. Eng. Tharwat El Meniawy, the CATGO’s president, said that total transactions of the Egyptian cotton exportation have increased to 2.7 million quintal, with a total value of $278 millions, to 29 countries topped by India with 33%, within 31 weeks since the beginning of the exportation season.Source: El-Alam Al- Yom Newspaper”
