“The report pointed out that the value of Egyptian exports of T & C to the United States has achieved an increase of 13% during the period from January to October of 2010, reaching 857 million USD, while it reached 770 million USD during the period from January to September 2009 with a percentage increase of 12.2 %, this is due to increasing the demand on quantities that were exported from the textiles and yarns which amounted to 16%, carpets and home textiles by 20.6% from January to October of 2010 when compared to the same period in 2009…This comes within the framework of the follow-up implementation of the national strategy to double the exports to 200 billion pounds by 2013…The report said that Egypt occupied advanced ranks among the largest exporters of Textiles and Clothing to the U.S. market, where it ranked the 2nd  for the floor coverings made of synthetic fibers and the 4th place for Garments of blue jeans and the 7th  place for the trousers of made of cotton for men and boys and the 8thposition of the trousers made of cotton for ladies and girls and the 9th position of cotton yarn and the 10th place for trousers made of synthetic fibers and finally the 12th for the T-shirts, curtains made of synthetic fibers…Mr. Mamdouh Mostafa (head of the Trade Representative) said that Egypt retained its position as the  17th  among the largest exporters of T & C to the U.S. market (and ranked as the 16th amongst  the largest exporters of Ready-Made Garments only), and that the value of exports of Ready-Made Garments (RMG)under the QIZ reached about 745.8 million USD with a percentage increase of 12.7%, during the period from January to October of 2010 when compared to 662 million USD during the same period in 2009..”
