“Exports in textiles were up 4 percent last year, while exports of clothing decreased by 2 percent, the Association of Apparel and Textile Producers and Exporters said in its annual report .Textile and clothing imports were estimated last year at euro1.3 billion (US$1.67 billion), mostly from EU countries .Most exports also went to EU countries, mainly Greece, Italy, Germany and France, the report said. The exports to the EU were up last year by 2 percent, while exports to Bulgaria’s second market, Turkey, were down 18 percent. To its third market in the U.S., they decreased by 37 percent .Bulgaria aims to join the EU on Jan. 1 .Source: BusinessWeek .
