Greek apparel exports fell 10.5 per cent year-on-year to $880 million in the first nine months of 2001 as the industry was hit by falling orders around the world.
The latest official figures show clothing exports to EU countries slumped nearly 10 per cent overall, with Germany and France posting the sharpest individual falls.
Greek clothing exports to the US fell 17.5 per cent in the period but jumps of between 11 per cent and 55 per cent were recorded in Sweden, Finland, Italy and Spain.
