In short

  • Run trial production first, then register the factory in the Industrial Register within 30 days of starting production.
  • Egypt's export rebate programme (2025/26–2027/28) lists garments among its priority sectors, with dues to be paid within 90 days.
  • Egytex Buying Requests and the Egytex Directory put new factories in front of buyers from day one.

What this stage involves

Trial production. Run trial batches to settle machine settings, line balancing and quality checks before taking large orders. Invite your key buyers or their auditors to see the line.

Final registrations. Within 30 days of starting production, enter the factory in the Industrial Register (see Stage 6). Make sure your exporter registration (Stage 9) is in place before the first export shipment.

First orders. List your company in the Egytex Directory so buyers can find you, and answer the buying requests posted on Egytex by international buyers. Trade fairs in Egypt and abroad are another route — see the Egytex Events calendar.

Export support. Egypt's export rebate programme runs for three fiscal years, 2025/26 to 2027/28, with a total budget of EGP 45 billion. Garments are among the priority sectors. Under the programme, export dues are to be paid within 90 days, and products need at least 35% local content to qualify. Check the current rules and how to apply before you count on it.
