High street giant Marks & Spencer on Tuesday unveiled its new range of sports wear with the help of some of Britain’s’s top sports men and women.

The new View From collection includes apparel for golf, running, gym and fitness and outdoor pursuits. A ski wear range for children as well as adults will be launched next month.

M&S acquired the View From brand from former Olympic athlete Brendan Foster in June as it looks to compete head-on with its rivals in the £1 billion performance sports wear market.

The high-tech range includes a bonded fleece that is both windproof and waterproof and incorporates stretch panels to ensure ease of movement, moisture-wicking jersey wear and breathable waterproofs.

The range is now available at 125 M&S stores and is endorsed by stars including rower Matthew Pinsent, yachtswoman, Ellen MacArthur; rugby star, Jason Robinson and cricketer Darren Gough.

Angela Masella, marketing manager for View From, commented: “With View From we have combined technological innovation and function with style and quality in an accessible environment.

“Customers say they often feel intimidated shopping in large sportswear outlets and would welcome an environment where they feel comfortable browsing but where help is available if needed.

“The high quality and excellent value for money associated with Marks and Spencer are carried throughout this range to deliver a genuinely unique performance sportswear collection.”
